G.O. Fresh employs multiple intervention technologies and strategies to

ensure food safety. One essential element in our program is to safeguard

the quality of wash water used to clean and sanitize our fruits and vegetables.

Unsanitary flume & processing water can be a source of contamination itself

which is why we monitor it carefully and use Tsunami® 100.

According to Ecolab, “Tsunami 100 is an EPA registered antimicrobial water additive that reduces 99.9% of the pathogens Escherichia coli O157:H7, Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella enterica in fresh-cut, further processed and post-harvest fruit and vegetable processing waters.”

As the only product on the market that is an EPA-registered, anti-microbial water additive, we chose to go with the science. But because food safety is a never-ending concern and there’s no one single answer, we’ll continue to look for additional ways to guard the food supply against dangerous pathogens.
